The advantages of  Schneider-Kreuznach optical filters

A number of unique features set Schneider-Kreuznach optical filters apart from other filters on the market. One of the most important features is the consistently high transmission without transmission fluctuations. The filters open quickly to provide maximum light output while blocking unwanted wavelengths. In addition, the tolerance is less than 1% and all filters are inspected and controlled to ensure they meet the highest quality standards.

Key features of Schneider-Kreuznach industrial filters:

Our optical filters feature high-quality glass with exceptionally low tolerances. We source substrates exclusively from reputable manufacturers to ensure outstanding quality. Through this careful selection, we reduze wavefront deformation to an absolute minimum, resulting in nearly undistorted image quality.

  • Consistent transmission without fluctuations
  • Steep edges and blocking of wavelengths
  • <1% tolerance
  • Guaranteed quality and cleanliness
  • Stackable for easy filter combination
  • Customized coating and in-house development
  • RoHS/REACH compliant and free from harmful substances
  • ISO 9001 certified for EU compliance
  • Easy-to-clean and robust
  • various sizes and shapes available

Constant high transmission

There is no room for compromise when it comes to optical filters. Schneider-Kreuznach optical filters deliver consistently high transmission without filter-induced fluctuations. Designed to maintain a precise level of transmission, they provide accurate and reliable results every time.

The transmission of our optical filters is designed to compensate for shifts in the illumination spectrum due to heating and aging. This ensures consistent system performance and image quality over time.

Steep edges

For optical filters, edge steepness is critical to performance. Therefore, Schneider-Kreuznach filters are designed with steep edges to ensure maximum light transmission. Only the desired wavelengths can pass through the filter, while unwanted wavelengths are quickly blocked out.

Tolerance < 1 %

With a wavelength tolerance of less than 1%, Schneider-Kreuznach optical filters provide consistent and accurate performance. This is particularly important in industrial environments where precision and reliability are essential. All filters undergo rigorous quality control to ensure they meet this high standard. Customers can rely on receiving products of the highest quality.

One of the benefits of this precise wavelength tolerance is that it allows the user to obtain the exact results that they are looking for. This is particularly useful in scientific and medical applications where accuracy is critical.

100 % control in cleanliness

The performance of optical filters can be greatly affected by even the slightest variation in cleanliness. To ensure that all filters meet the highest standards of quality and performance, we take great care to maintain 100% cleanliness control. With no variation in cleanliness or quality, our filters perform exactly as expected.

filter glass Holder

Screw holders or industrial adhesives are used to attach the filter glass plates. Screw holders also make the filter more heat resistant, giving it greater strength and durability. It can withstand higher temperatures without losing its structural integrity. Bonded filters have the advantage of saving space and are often used with C-mount lenses.

STackable filters

Stackable filters give you the flexibility to create custom configurations to suit your specific needs. Any requested combination of filters can be stacked, whether you need to create a special Bandpass filter by stacking an Shortpass and an Longpass filter, or several Neutral density filters to achieve the desired exposure reduction. If you need to cross polarize your filters, our stackable design allows you to do that, too.

Example combination of filters:
Shortpass 760 HT + Longpass 600 HT = Bandpass 600-760 HT

Standard size and Mount

The standard size and screw mount of our optical filters matches the diameter of Schneider-Kreuznach lenses and all other lenses. This ensures that our filters fit seamlessly with our lenses and are also compatible with the most common filter threads of major lens manufacturers.

Coating and development in-house

We apply the coatings to our filters, here at Schneider-Kreuznach. With this expertise  we develop filters with specific spectral, polarisation and other optical characteristics, exactly as required. With the exact formula of our coatings, we provide detailed information about their performance and characteristics, helping you to make informed decisions about which filter is right for your application.

Our ability to design custom filters in-house also means we respond quickly to your needs. We produce and test prototypes to ensure they meet your specifications, and then quickly scale up to full production runs.

Easy-to-clean

Our filters are easily removed from applications thanks to their screw mechanism, thus allowing to clean the filter professionally on a regular basis.

As well as being easy to clean and maintain, our filters are robust. They are designed to withstand harsh environments, high temperatures and exposure to chemicals and solvents.

On the MRC nano-coated Schneider-Kreuznach filter, a water droplet remains practically spherical. It rolls over the surface. A first-rate dirt and water-repellent effect occurs.
