B+W Black-white filter
Photography in a new light. More contrast. More expression.
Why are color filters used in black-and-white photography?
In black-and-white photography, colors are converted into shades of gray. However, many colors have similar brightness values. This often results in subtle tonal differences, making images appear low in contrast. Color filters alter these tonal values. The stronger the filter’s color, the greater the contrast in the image.
The new black-and-white color filters from B+W Filter enable precise control over gray reproduction. By selectively filtering certain wavelengths, contrasts are enhanced, and tonal gradations are rendered with greater distinction: More contrast. More expression.
These filters are now available in the MASTER filter holder and feature the advanced MRC nano coating system for maximum light transmission and easy cleaning.
Our black-white filters are available in three options: Y475 yellow filter, O550 orange filter and R610 red filter.
