Ron Engvaldsen has been named Vice President of Filter Technology for Motion Picture Television (MPTV) filters at Schneider Optics, the US subsidiary of Schneider-Kreuznach

Ron Engvaldsen has been named Vice President of Filter Technology for Motion Picture Television (MPTV) filters at Schneider Optics, the US subsidiary of Schneider-Kreuznach. Ron, a nearly 25-year Schneider veteran will be heading up the MPTV manufacturing division with responsibilities that include the design, development and testing of new state of the art filters for cinematographers around the world.

Ron started with Schneider Optics in November 1996 as one of the original four employees who established the MPTV division. His Chemical Engineering degree and vast experience with dyes was instrumental in the development of the coloration process of laminated filters. Prior to Schneider, Ron served 7 years as a chemist in a pharmaceutical company, specializing in wet chemistry and instrumentational analysis of drugs for human and animal use. 

In 2012, Ron was an integral part of the team that developed the Platinum IRND filter – an achievement recognized by the Television Academy with a Technical Achievement Emmy Award.
