Schneider-Kreuznach intensifies technical vocational training with its own training workshop
Optics specialist Jos. Schneider Optische Werke GmbH is increasingly focusing on in-house training. In the new training year, 15 new trainees have started their professional future since August.
The previous joint training for basic metal training has been abandoned. “We have different requirements for trainees; our needs lie more in the field of precision engineering. We can already draw a positive conclusion from the change,” says Guido Antweiler, Head of Training at Jos. Schneider Optische Werke GmbH. The company has developed and implemented its own training workshop for the new training year with the aim of increasing practical relevance. It is equipped with workbenches and a conventional turning and milling machine.
Schneider-Kreuznach is currently training a total of 29 young people as precision opticians, industrial mechanics, cutting machine operators or surface coaters. The fine optics trainees receive their schooling at the Göttingen site. Schneider-
Kreuznach has reactivated the vocational school class for precision opticians in cooperation with the surrounding optical companies. Unfortunately, there are no comparable opportunities at the company's headquarters.
