Rethinking Light: B+W Filter pushes the creative boundaries of long exposure, infrared, and black-and-white photography.
Great photography begins when light is not only captured, but also consciously shaped. With a targeted portfolio update, B+W Filters is bringing new creative freedom to those who work with light, including hobbyists and professional photographers alike. The new 820 ND 6.0 filter is at the center, complemented by technical upgrades to the infrared and black-and-white filters. As always, these premium "Made in Germany" products are of the highest quality.
820 ND 6.0 Filter
The new filter expands the existing ND filter series (802, 803, 806, and 810) by offering extreme light control. With 20 stops of light reduction, it opens up new visual possibilities. Scenes slow down, motion disappears, and time becomes visible. Whether the subject is minimalist architecture, smooth water surfaces, or drifting cloud formations, this filter enables a level of visual creativity that would otherwise be impossible in normal light. It also opens up new photographic perspectives for rare celestial events, such as the upcoming solar eclipse this summer.
IR 830 Infrared Filter
The IR 830 infrared filter replaces the 092 IR 695 and 093 IR 830 models and will be supplied in the MASTER filter holder instead of the BASIC holder. Thanks to the new nano (Super Top Coat) coating, the filter has received a significant technological upgrade. The surface is more robust and better protected against dirt and fingerprints. It is also easier to handle during everyday use without compromising the characteristic infrared image effect with bright vegetation and a high-contrast sky.
Black-White Filter (Y475, O550 and R610)
The new black-and-white color filters (yellow Y475, orange O550, and red R610) replace the previous versions (022, 040, 090, and 091) and are now available in the MASTER filter holder as well. Black-and-white photography is currently making a strong comeback as a creative tool, not just as a nostalgic trend. B+W Filter has never viewed this development as a trend, but rather as an integral part of photographic imagery, and has therefore consistently kept the filter line in its product range. Now it is being taken to the next technical level: MASTER instead of BASIC, complemented by the high-quality MRC nano coating for maximum image quality, higher transmission, and even easier cleaning.
This update highlights B+W Filter's commitment to producing technically impressive filters that help photographers bring their vision to life by offering precision, durability, and the 'Made in Germany' quality seal. All products are available now.
Please note:
Infrared and ND filters are not suitable for directly observing the sun.
Never look directly into the sun! This applies even when using a camera viewfinder. There is a risk of blindness.
