B+W Filter: Further Development of the BASIC and MASTER Series
Filters have long been essential tools in photography, and their design has steadily evolved over the years.
B+W Filter is advancing this evolution by transitioning the BASICand MASTER series to modern manufacturing technology. Instead of the traditional screw-on design, the filter glass will be permanently and precisely bonded to the filter frame. We have already successfully implemented this process with the T-PRO series.
This design reduces the number of mechanical parts, resulting in stable, clean, lightweight construction. In practice, this means robust filters that rely on modern, efficient manufacturing methods and are comfortable to handle.
The transition is taking place gradually across all diameters. Some variants are currently available with the previous screw-on design, but they will be replaced as development progresses.
Important: Differences in external appearance do not indicate differences in quality. Rather, they reflect the stage of production within the same product family.
